Born to a father from the hip-hop group Double XX Posse, Sharaya J grew up in a household where rap battles and studio sessions were routine. Her career began as a choreographer whose work caught the attention of Diddy, Ciara, Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, The-Dream & Rihanna, and earned her cameos on music videos for Alicia Keys’ “Teenage Love Affair” and The-Dream’s “Shawty Is a 10”. In 2018, she joined Fox TV’s The Four: Battle for Stardom, attaining the title for the longest seat holder and runner-up of Season 2.
Sharaya J is known for being signed to Missy Elliott’s label The Goldmind Inc. where she studied and worked as her protégé. Sharaya J has spent most of her adult life in the spotlight, touring and choreographing routines for Ciara, Rihanna, and Diddy. She has toured Europe with Missy Elliott as a dancer, performed her own music onstage between Missy’s sets, and released several singles under Missy’s label The Goldmind, Inc. Her performances and on-air interviews include the BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher, Dazed Digital, Interview magazine, NY Mag/The Cut, Good Day Atlanta, Entertainment Tonight, The Steve Harvey Radio Show and FOX’s “The Four” Season 2.
