Welcome back to #MUSICED! #MUSICED is a weekly series that will help YOU stay educated about the complexities of the music industry, giving you everything you need to know about monetizing your masters. On this week’s #MUSICED, we discuss Collective Management Organizations!

Collective Management Organizations (CMOs) collect royalties for neighboring and related rights.  In the United States, related rights include public performance royalties for the recorded master of a copyrighted work. These rights vary from territory to territory.  CMO’s act on behalf of their members, distributing royalties for each recorded work.
If you hold the copyright to a sound recording that monetizes from a public performance, you are entitled to remuneration. Transparence is dedicated to ensuring that music creators receive the payments that they deserve.
